Oxford Civic Society is a founder member of Civic Voice which was launched in 2010 and assumes some of the roles of the former Civic Trust. We support the need for a strong, national organisation because we need:
- a mechanism for contacting other Societies facing similar challenges to our own - sharing experiences and frustrations should lead to more appropriate and effective solutions
- the wider public to be aware of the civic movement - the better known the movement is, the easier it is for us to recruit new members and make us even more influential
- an authoritative voice to speak on our behalf to Government and national organisations such as English Heritage, CPRE, Town and Country Planning Association
Civic Voice are offering a pass to all members of local societies entitling them - or a friend - to free access to a National Trust property. Details of how to obtain the pass are available from the Hon Secretary info@oxfordcivicsoc.org.uk
