Background
The work of the Society is currently divided into an Executive Committee and 5 sub-committees (see Key Focus). Officers and members are elected annually.
Whilst the role of Executive Committee is that of defining policy at a strategic level, the sub-committees are dedicated to carrying out the delegated functions involved. This works on a very flexible basis, depending on the current working agenda.
Various work groups exist either permanently or on an ad hoc basis: different groups may work together on a project, just as occasionally an individual may work independently as, for example, the work of the Society’s Archivist.
All this is formally defined in our Constitution (June 2006)
